How to Join

Ready to Roll?

 

  • To be a member of the TAMU BJJ Club, you must be a Texas A&M (undergraduate or graduate) or Blinn TEAM student. You must present a TAMU Student ID to be eligble to join the TAMU BJJ Club. 

 

  • We strongly believe that ANY student can learn and enjoy the benefits of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We welcome and accept all students of any skill level (from first-timer to black belts) to join the club. We accept students in the fall and spring semesters.

 

  • Please check the FAQs for more information on what to expect and club's rules.

 

  • Important Note: The TAMU BJJ Club is part of the University of Sidekicks. The training is located at 12845 FM 2154 Suite 120 in College Station.  Your 1st class is FREE.  After your 1st class you must join the Club to participate.

 

Steps to Join

 

1. If you are interested in trying out the class, please call University of Sidekicks at 979-661-1560 Office hours are between 10 am and 1 pm. The facility is for training only, the business office is not part of the facility.  

 

2. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before class to sign a waiver.  Feel free to bring water, however water is available for sale at the studio. 

 

2. If it's your first time, just come to class with workout attire. If you do decide to commit to the club after your trial class, you are REQUIRED to buy a blue or white BJJ gi. If you are experienced in BJJ, please bring your gi and your belt to class. No Judo gis are allowed and no black gis are allowed. Keep your toe nails trimmed, keep a clean uniform and good hygiene. 

 

3. Bring water or your favorite sports drink to class. We do take a brief water break half-way through class.

 

4. Fees: 

  • First time students get to try only their first BJJ class for free!

 

  • You must present a TAMU Student ID card to be elgible for TAMU BJJ Club fees.

 

  • The class fee is $99 per month  payment goes to University of Sidekicks. The class fee covers  2 classes a week, for a $20 upgrade fee per month you may also attend the No Gi class immediately following the Gi class. You must also pay a student club fee directly to TAMU BJJ Club by cash only, which is $5 per semester. 

 

  • Any TAMU BJJ Club member interested in coming to open mat please see Coach Jeff. 

 

  • There are two ways to pay the class fee (Choose one of them.):

    • You can pay in full or make monthly payments..

    • The studio accepts Visa or Mastercard. 

 

5. Come with an open mind and positive attitude! Learning BJJ is a great opportunity and a privilege! It is AWESOME and you will not regret it!
