About TAMU BJJ Club

The Texas A&M Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club has been in existence since 2010. The Texas A&M Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club is dedicated to one's development and interest into the sport of Jiu-Jitsu. The primary mission of the club is to provide first rate training and invite any student to take part in learning both the sport and self-defense aspect of BJJ. Through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, members will learn about how to defend themselves with control maneuvers, leverage, takedowns, key positions, and application of grappling techniques through drilling and rolling.

 

One who takes part in BJJ training will enjoy the following benefits:

  • fitness activity

  • growth of strength, discipline, and confidence in one's mind and body

  • learning an extremely effective self-defense

  • making awesome new friends

  • obtaining excellent training from professional instructors

  • opportunities for competition and attending seminars

  • learning an AWESOME martial art

 

We welcome and accept any Texas A&M and Blinn TEAM student of all skills levels (from first-time beginners to black belts) to join the TAMU BJJ Club. You must present a Texas A&M Student ID card to join the club. The TAMU BJJ Club is only active in the Fall and Spring semesters. For more infomation about joining, please view the How to Join. Click the FAQs page for more info about what to expect.

University of Sidekicks Is an Affiliation of RPBJJ

The Texas A&M Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club is taught by Owner and Master Instructor Renee Nolte at the University of Sidekicks. The University of Sidekicks Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Class is an affiliation of Rodrigo Pinheiro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (RPBJJ) in San Antonio, TX.*

 

*Important Note: The Texas A&M BJJ Club is part of the University of Sidekicks, but not part of the Rodrigo Pinheiro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A TAMU BJJ Club member wishing to be a member of RPBJJ must talk to Master Renee Nolte about additional requirements and additional fees. 

 

BJJ Professor Rodrigo Pinheiro is a Gracie Humaita Black Belt (4th degree) who holds a number of titles and high achievements in worldwide reputable tournaments and championships. Professor Rodrigo Pinheiro and Master Renee Nolte colloborate together to provide the best instruction and insight for their students. Professor Rodrigo Pinheiro teaches his seminars at University of Sidekicks a couple of times each year.
